Il successo crescente delle passate edizioni e di SPIN 2003 ha spinto l'ABI e il Gruppo Italia SWIFT a dare ulteriore slancio a SPIN 2004 verso un obiettivo ambizioso: la realizzazione di una grande EuroMed Banking Conference.
SPIN 2004 si è svolto a Roma il 14, 15 e 16 aprile presso l'Aurelia Convention Centre & Expo, e ha analizzato tra i numerosi temi:
l'allargamento dell'UE e i rapporti coi paesi del Mediterraneo - il processo di ampliamento dell'Europa dei pagamenti - l'evoluzione dei sistemi di regolamento titoli in Italia - il processo di implementazione della SEPA - il processo di armonizzazione degli standards internazionali e il ruolo di SWIFT - il commercio internazionale nell'area del Mediterraneo.
Sono intervenuti: ABI, Banca d'Italia, SWIFT, alcune fra le principali banche italiane, autorevoli esponenti provenienti da Bolero, CLS, CNR, EBA, EPC, e-MID, ICE, Ministero delle attività produttive, Simest oltre a importanti relatori provenienti dall'area del Mediterraneo e dagli Acceding countries.
Un ampio spazio espositivo è stato messo a disposizione dei partecipanti per gli incontri con le importanti aziende Sponsor della manifestazione Actalis, Datamat, EDS, Enterprise, IBM, Gruppo ICBPI, N.C.H., RA Computer, SIA, Viveo Finance.
Molto apprezzati i due eventi serali: il 14 aprile la Visita della mostra "I tesori degli Aztechi" a Palazzo Ruspoli; 15 aprile Cena di Gala a Palazzo Brancaccio.
The success of last year's edition of SPIN and the experience of six years' work to produce a gathering to meet the needs of banks, institutions and specialized firms have led the conference organizers, ABI and the SWIFT Italy Group, to realize a highly ambitious goal for SPIN 2004, namely the organization of a major "Euromed Banking Conference". The Conference opened at 9:30 on Wednesday April 14th and ended at 13:00 on Friday the 16th at Aurelia Convention Centre & Expo in Rome.
Here is a brief list of the dealt issues in plenary sessions and in parallel streams:
EU enlargement and relations with the countries of the Mediterranean basin - the process of implementation of a wider payments area - evolution of the securities settlement system in Italy - the implementation of the SEPA - the harmonization of international standards and the role of SWIFT - the international trade in the Mediterranean area.
Moreover an Exhibition Area at disposal to meet the Companies leader in International Payments and Banking Services: Actalis, Datamat, EDS, Enterprise, IBM, Gruppo ICBPI, N.C.H., RA Computer, SIA, Viveo Finance.
There were also two evening events: April 14th a cultural event Visit of Exhibition "Treasures of the Aztecs", Palazzo Ruspoli; and April 15th the Gala Dinner, Palazzo Brancaccio.
Along with the expected Italian speakers, coming from ABI, Bank of Italy, SWIFT and the major Italian Banks, the Conference saw the participation of representatives Bolero, CLS, CNR, EBA, EPC, e-MID, ICE - Institute for the Promotion of Foreign Trade, Ministry for Productive Activities. Simest and other speakers coming from countries belonging to the Mediterranean region, as well as from Eastern Europe.
